New LGBT Youth Group for Cashel
If you are between the ages of 13 and 18 years, and identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (LGBT for short), or you are questioning or unsure whether you are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender then read on!
While some people may be of the opinion that there aren’t many LGBT people, and particularly young people, in our communities, schools and peer groups, the statistics tell us a different story. With 5-10% or our population identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender there is a need to set up as many supports as possible to enable us all to feel comfortable in our sexuality in a safe environment.
Cashel Neighbourhood Youth Project is setting up a new youth group to support LGBT young people. They will meet in the Youth project. The group will be a safe place for LGBT young people to hang out, discuss any issues they may have and get the support and access to services they need.
