Outdoor education public meeting

A public meeting about a new outdoor education programme for teenage boys who have left school early takes place in Rathgormack next Monday.

The programme is being run by Comeragh Boys Camp, a new non-profit registered charity based at the foot of the Comeraghs near Rathgormack.

Groups of young people have enjoyed a variety of activities run by the camp this summer including hillwalking, orienteering, camping, and campfire cooking.

The charity is proposing to begin using a section of Coillte's plantation for educational activities with early school leavers in the months ahead.

Anyone who is interested in hearing more about this programme is invited to attend a meeting at the Rathgormack Hiking Centre on September 6 at 8pm.

Further information on the programme and Comeragh Boys Camp are available from Wesley Sensenig at (086) 6038724.
