President Higgins to be made Freeman of Clonmel

The President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins, will be made a Freeman of Clonmel on Friday, June 1.

The historic event will take place in the Town Hall at 2pm.

Clonmel Borough Council decided to include President Higgins among its list of Freemen in recognition of “his outstanding contribution to the academic, cultural and artistic life of the country and as a token of the high esteem in which he is held by the people of Clonmel”.
