Rotary Club launch new 052 phone directory

Volunteerism at its best was how Deputy Mayor Joe Leahy described the work of the Rotary Club of Clonmel when he launched its new 052 telephone directory last Thursday night.

Cllr Leahy said the amount of work that went into the publication was staggering and reflected the contribution that the Rotary club made to Clonmel.

"It's an excellent production and every home should have one", said Cllr Leahy who was presented with the first copy of the directory by club president Marian O'Flaherty and project chairman Tom O'Gorman.

Proceeds from the publication will go to Rotary charities as well as to the SS Peter and Paul's Church restoration fund and to Place4U, the new teenage centre in Gladstone Street.

The directory is the sixth to be produced by the Rotary club and the first since the 052 numbers had been changed with prefixes such as 61, 91 and 74 added.

At Thursday evening's launch in the Main Guard, Mr O'Gorman thanked everyone who had been involved in the project, including Kieran Stafford of the Rotary Club as well as Michael Lavin and Michael Campbell.

All the work had been done on a voluntary basis and he was happy that they had produced a very fine publication.

He thanked all those who had advertised in the book and also thanked Lion Print for the printing.

"The proceeds from the sale of this directory are going to very worthy causes and I appeal to people to buy a copy", Mr O'Gorman added.

The directory is available at the following outlets -
