Members of the South Tipperary branch of the Labour Party at a recent meeting where new beginnings were announced for the local branch.

Friday September 28 saw a new beginning for South Tipperary
Labour Party Council.

A special meeeting was attended by elected members Senator Denis Landy, MEP Phil Prendergast, Cllr Darren Ryan, Cllr Bobby Fitzgerald, Cllr Seanie Lonergan and Cllr Sarah Dunne.

A new committee was elected with the view of expanding membership and, according to a spokesman, bringing a larger awareness to the county of the fantastic work that Labour party members undertake each week.

Elected for the year ahead were Liam Hayes (Chairperson) and Tara Moriarty (Secretary and PRO ).

Over the next year the new committee will be committed to interacting with all members of the party in South Tipperary and hope to see a lot of new faces.

The elected members on the night expressed their thanks to a very valued colleague Roisin Shorthall in light of her resignation and it was decided that a letter to Roisin would be drafted. In all it was a very positive meeting with a great turn out of old and new members.
