Tipperary students enjoy Doodle Google event

Eighty students from around the country, each accompanied by a parent and a teacher, descended on Google's European HQ in Dublin recently to find out if their doodle had been selected by Google's chief doodler as the overall winner of Google's Irish Doodle 4 Google competition.

Google Webmaster Michael Lopez travelled from the US to select and announce the overall winner who was named as Donegal student Ruth Deeney from Loreto Community School in Milford. Ruth's winning doodle appeared on the Google homepage on March 3rd and Ruth also received a €10,000 technology grant for her school.

All 80 regional winners attending the event took part in creative art and doodle classes with Michael Lopez and other webmasters. Each student was also presented with a framed doodle and a Google goodie bag.
