The Lauralynn Children’s Hospice and IKEA are asking children across the county of Tipperary “What Makes Them Happy” as part the 2012 Children’s Charity Art competition.

The competition is open to all school children aged four to 13 years and the 12 winning pictures will be featured in the 2013 IKEA calendar.

The closing date of the competition is September 28. To enter visit www.ikea.ie. All of the monies raised from sale of the calendars will go directly to the LauraLynn Children’s Hospice.

A selection of the children’s pictures entered into the competition will be displayed in store prior to the announcement of the winning 12 pictures. Each winning artist will receive a complete IKEA arts and craft set worth €100 as well as a €900 community donation to their school or young people’s group they represent. The calendar will cost €5 and goes on sale in store from October 29th.

LauraLynn Hospice is IKEA Ireland’s local charity of the year for 2012 and supports children with life limiting conditions and their families. This is the second year of involvement by IKEA. LauraLynn Hospice Project was set up in 2001 as a result of an enormous personal tragedy in the lives of Jane and Brendan McKenna which saw them lose both of their precious daughters Laura and Lynn in the space of just two years.
