The Catholic Church is now celebrating a Year of Faith. This coincides with the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council and the 20th anniversary of the publication of the most recent Catechism of the Catholic Church. In announcing the Year of Faith, Pope Benedict reminded all that the door of faith always stays open for us and, if we go through that doorway, we enter on the journey of a lifetime.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church is an indispensable tool in supporting growth in faith and, as Pope Benedict has pointed out, what we find there is no mere theory but an encounter with the very source of our faith itself.
To help people become re-acquainted with this vital resource, Fr. Bartholomew Parys will give a series of open and free talks on Faith and the Catechism each Thursday night running from 8th November to 13th December. The talks will begin at 8pm and finish at 9.30pm and there will be time for questions, answers and some discussion each night, as well as a cup of tea. The venue is the Central Technical Institute, The Mall, Clonmel and admission is free.
