Everest conqueror to speak at Climb Fest

This Saturday, September 10, Ballykeeffe’s first ever Climb Fest continues near the Tipperary Kilkenny border offering a ‘Come and try it’ workshop where all comers will be gently introduced to the sport of rock climbing.

This Saturday, September 10, Ballykeeffe’s first ever Climb Fest continues near the Tipperary Kilkenny border offering a ‘Come and try it’ workshop where all comers will be gently introduced to the sport of rock climbing.

Afterwards a barbecue (admission E10) will follow a slide show from Dawson Stelfox, who in 1993 become the first Irishman to reach the summit of Everest.

Mid-Tipp hillwalkers are going along and leaving form the Horse and Jockey at 2.15pm. There will be climbing opportunities for all levels including absolute beginners and families (climbing equipment provided) and all are welcome to meet at the Jockey and join in.

Participants then have a choice of returning early or staying on for the barbecue and slide show.
