Kevin Moore added the county intermediate title to his Munster under 23 win last week with a brilliant run to win the county intermediate in a sprint finish.
Wille O’Dwyer also ran excellently to finish 6th. James Ryan and Ruaidhri Devitt both battled hard to complete the team finishing 12th and 16th. The four lads combined excellently to win the team event for the seventh time in eight years.
Graham Butler, Michael Coen and Tommy Byrnes were 20th, 23rd and 24th and Michael Moore, Sean McGrath and Liam Butler were 26th, 35th and 37th.
In the ladies race Catherine Kelly ran excellently to win the silver medal.
Juvenile training continues on our track at the scouts centre on Tuesdays and Fridays at 7pm. The county masters and juvenile relays will take place next Sunday in Thurles.
The county uneven age cross country was held in the Turnpike, Moycarkey last Sunday. We had 17 juveniles competing. Our best performances came from Eimear Loughman who won the Girls U/15 race. Jean Kelly was 2nd in the girls U/15. Gearoid Ryan was second in the Boys U/11 and led his team of Stephen Ferncombe 6th, Ben Loughman 9th, David Carroll 13th and Padraig Bradshaw 14th to the gold medals.
Jerry Hayes was a good 6th in the boys U/13 and Michael Boland 5th in the Boys U/18. Others to run well were Kate Ferncombe 24th and Aibheann Ryan 48th in the girls U/9. Kieran Browne 27th in the boys U/13. Finbar Ryan was a good 9th in the boys U/9 and led the team of Adam O’Dwyer 25th, Dylan Sexton 40th,Cian Carroll 41st and Michael Furlong 42nd to 5th team place.
