Community Games

County Tipperary Community Games are now looking forward to the challenges and excitement of the first weekend of the HSE Community Games National Finals which will take place from Friday May 25 to Sunday May 27. Our teams are small this year due to being defeated in various Munster Finals but we are very optimistic about our chances in the Art and Modelling, Choir, Cross Country, Draughts, Girls Handball, Projects, Quiz, Projects and the events in the Talent Competiton.

Any competitor who has not submitted a copy of their birth certificate and passport type photograph to the County Secretary, Kathleen England, 0505-21776 at this stage will be replaced by the runner up.

The Draw for all Team Events on the Summer Programme are now on the website and the County Executive are very anxious that all matches be arranged immediately as all first round games must be played before April 30. The rule is that the first team out has the “home venue” and are obliged to contact the opposing team to arrange the match. The visiting team is to supply the referee or if this is not possible the teams may come to an agreement.

The next Individual County Final is Gymnastics which will take place in Moyle Park Sports Complex on Bank Holiday Monday, May 7 commencing at 12 noon but warm ups will be allowed prior to that. All enquiries to Co-Ordinator Martin O’Keeffe at 087 8112968.

The County Finals of the Swimming will take place in Clonmel Pool on Saturday and Sunday, May 12 and 13 commencing at 2.30pm. All girls events will take place on Saturday and all boys events on Sunday. Closing date for entries is no later than 5pm on Monday, April 30. Entries to be sent direct to Co-ordinator, Tom O’Ceallaigh either by post to 7 Auburn Square, Clonmel or by e mail, which is the preferred method to tomoceallaigh@eircom.net. Entries must be sent though Community Games area secretaries and the following details provided - name, address, date of birth and the event one wishes to participate in. Competitors must be under the age specified on July 31, 2012 and must reside in the area they represent. Areas may enter two competitors in each event ie. two boys and two girls total 4 children.
