It is all systems go around the county at the moment with hundreds of children busy preparing for their area finals in various activities.

We had a newsflash from Swimming Co-ordinator, Tom O Ceallaigh, stating that there has been a change in the dates for the County Finals of the Swimming events.

The County final of all girls competitions will now take place in Clonmel pool on Sunday, February 10. Closing date for entries for same is Saturday, February 2.

The entries may be e-mailed to tomoceallaigh@eircom.net or sent by post. If posting please ring Tom at 087-2333101 to confirm his address. Entry fee is €2 per competitor. Areas may enter two children in each of the following age groups: under 8, under 10, under 12, under 14 and under 16.

Competitors must be under the age specified on July 31, 2013 and must reside in an affiliated area. This date is considerably earlier than expected so please make a note of it. The County Final of the boys competitions will also take place in Clonmel pool but not until Sunday, March 3. The same rules will apply.

The South final of all Indoor Soccer events will take place in Moyle Park Sports Complex, Lisronagh, Clonmel on Sunday February 10. Co-ordinator is Joan O’Connor 086-8288984.

All Talent County Finals are in Lattin Cullen on Saturday, February 23. Co-ordinator Paul Carew, 086-8187668

All Project finals and Handwriting for boys and girls under 10 will take place in Silvermines on Saturday, February 23. Co-ordinator Philomena Keyes 085-1172753.

Areas are encouraged to hold their Art and Modelmaking finals as early as possible to select two children in the same age groups as the swimming to contest the County Finals which will take place in Clonmel in early March.
