Ballykisteen Golf Club



Last weekend we held a Club Singles competition which was won by Neil O’Malley with 37Pts followed by Tommy Russell with 36Pts and John Stokes also with 36Pts.

Next Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th will see our eagerly awaited 1st Monthly Medal of the year, which is being kindly sponsored by The Hideout Pub in Monard. The April Medal will be a stableford format, played off the white tees and members are encouraged to please support our Monthly Medals which also carry points for our Player of the year Competition.

Further reminder to members that names are now being taken in the pro shop for the upcoming singles and doubles Matchplay Competitions. Members can pick their own partner for the doubles and entry fee is €10 for each Competition. Both these competitions are very prestigious events in the club calendar with the singles being one of the highest ranking qualifiers in the Golfer of the Year competition and the 4 ball being the ideal way for new members to get to know their fellow members. Entry details and rules are posted in the locker room.

Timesheet is now open for members & guests for Senior Singles every Monday and Open Singles every Wednesday.

Sunday, April 7th sees our Lady Captain’s Away Day to the beautiful Greg Norman designed Doonbeg course.

Transport to and from Doonbeg will be provided on Sunday and details re pick-up times and venues have issued via email.

Let’s hope for some sunshine on Sunday.God knows, we are due some.

Best of luck to Esther Fearnley and Jane Cowhey who will play in the second round of the Irish Daily Mail Foursome which take place on Friday, April 12th at 2.15, Ballykisteen V Mitchelstown in Mitchelstown.

A huge Thank You is extended to Mary Coleman (ILGU) who gave an excellent informative presentation on the “Rules of Golf” in Ballykisteen recently.

It has come at a very appropriate time seeing as the competition season is fast approaching.

Sign-in list for each category is now up in the Ladies locker room so if you wish to partake in same please enter your name.

Do try and get in as much practise as possible as the competitions will begin on the weekend of April 27th.
