Classic

Our Vice Captains’ Ann Maher and Kieran Cunningham have organised a classic for their Vice Captains’ prize this year with all the money raised going to our Junior club. The competition is a three person Champagne Scramble with special prizes for ladies only teams. It is being held this coming weekend the 6th and 7th of April. As this is for a very good cause please organise a team and ask your friends from other clubs as this is an open competition, all are welcome, if you want to play and have no team, contact Brendan or Louise on 052 6132213 and we will get a team for you.

Ladies

A very successful Scramble and Raffle took place on Sunday, 24th and Tuesday 26th with all proceeds going to Daffodil Day. The Ladies Club would like to thank our sponsors and Slievenamon Bridge Club for their kind contribution. A sum o f €500 was raised for this very worthy cause.

The Ladies Prize giving took place on Tuesday 26th in the clubhouse. An enjoyable afternoon was had by all.  Our Lady Captain Chris Hayes thanked the members who supported this year’s league and made it a great success and our sponsor John O’Dwyer Golf Store, Clonmel.

Congratulations to Nora Ryan on coming 3rd in the Minor Alliance played held in Slievenamon on Monday last.

Our club matchplay competition will be starting shortly. Please put your name down as soon as possible if you would like to take part.

The ladies seniors are starting back on Thursday the 5th April at 9.30am.

We have an ongoing 14 and 18 hole stableford competition for the month of April.

Gents

Seamus O’Connor was the winner of the weekly singles with a great score of 43 points for the 18 hole competition. James O’Meara was second with 40 points and Adrian Lawrence finished third with 37 pts.

Anyone interested in trying out for our club teams (Purcell, Bruen. JB Carr etc) this year should put their names down on the notice board. The full details of the different teams, team managers etc are on the noticeboard.

Seniors

The team of Dave Forrest, Brian McNally and Jackie Brown were the winners of the rumble competition on Wednesday last, the team of Tony Falvey, Billy Phelan and Jim Cleary were second and the team of Con Lucey, Billy Perry and Dick Prendergast finished third.

Please note that the seniors meet every Wednesday morning with a draw for partners at 9.30am and the competition starts at 10.00am sharp. All members over 55 and their friends are welcome.

We have our first outing of the season on Monday next the 8th April at 9.39am to Ballykisteen G.C. The tee off is at 10.00 am sharp. The cost for regulars is €10 for lunch and the game of golf. Contact the club 062 32117 if you need a buggy (only a few left).

JuniorS

The junior coaching is back on Saturdays at 1.00pm. All juniors are welcome to attend and the coaching is by our professional Suzie O’Brien. New members are always welcome.

Fairways Restaurant

The Fairways Restaurant at Slievenamon Golf Club is open for group bookings; menus and prices can be 
tailored to suit your needs.

We cater for all occasions such as Birthdays, Communions, Confirmations, Funerals, Conferences and 
Weddings.
