The first leg of the All-Ireland Juvenile Championship was held in Tullamore last weekend. Jack O’Sullivan competing in his first All-Ireland Championship was gold medal winner in the Triple Jump U/15 with a PB jump of 10.23m. Jack was also 7th in the 80m Hurdles Final.
The U/16 250m Hurdles final was a very competitive race to the finish line with Leanne Prout winning silver medal in a time of 36.60 and Kelly Ann Doyle was bronze medal winner in a time of 36.85. In the U/16 80m Hurdles Leanne was 5th and Kelly Ann was 6th in the final.
Darren Prout was 3rd in the 100m Hurdles U/16 in a time of 14. 69.
Shauna Twomey U/14 had a great championship were she finished 4th in the Discus with a throw of 23.05 only beaten on the last throw for a medal, she was 5th in the 75m Hurdles and 6th in the Hammer with a throw of 24.05 all PB performances.
Michael Dineen U/16 was 5th in the Javelin with a throw of 36.60. Miriam Daly again competing in her first All-Ireland Championship was 7th in the final of the Long Jump U/12 with a PB jump of 4.06m. Eimear Bartley was 9th in the Long Jump U/17 with a jump of 4.71m and Rebecca Kelly was always up with the competitors in the 250m Hurdles where she finished 9th overall, only missing just missing out on a place in the final.
The final leg of the Championship will be held on the 28th & 29th July. Next Sunday the must B Championship will be held in Ennis.
