Tipperary Town native Pat Murray got the better of Stephen Healy in a hotly contested South of Ireland Amateur Open Championship final played at Lahinch Golf Club winning by two holes.
In the semi-finals Murray (Limerick) bt Eugene Smith (Ardee) 3&1.
For 41 year-old Pat it was a dream come true, finally getting his hands on the South trophy for the first time, having previously been defeated seven times in semi-finals.
But this year there was no stopping the proud Tipperary man who is an Honorary Member of Tipperary Golf Club.
Pat previously won the Irish Close Championship at Enniscrone, Co. Sligo, three years ago.
