Following a very successful Open Week you are reminded that the presentation of all outstanding prizes for Open Week and the August holiday weekend takes place following the scramble on Friday evening 10th August. We would like to say a sincere thank you to all our sponsors and to visitors and members who all contributed to a highly succerssful open week and August holiday weekend

Presidents Prize

This year’s President’s prize will be played over one round on Friday 17th and Saturday 18th August. Presentation of prizes followed by the usual ceol agus craic will take place in the clubhouse on Saturday night commencing at 9.30pm. This is also a Golfer of the Year competition.

Brian Shanahan leads in Golfer of the Year 2012

After 3 rounds in our Golfer of the Year competition Brian Shanahan leads the way on 106 points from Patrick O’Riordan on 104 with another members of the Shanahan family, Jordan lying in third place with 102 points. With almost 40 players still in contention the holiday at Dundrum is still up for grabs. The next GOY competition is the President’s prize which takes place on 18th August.

Seamus Power

With scores of 68-67-71-66 Seamus Power finished in solo-third place on 16 under par at the championship played at Woodside plantation in South Carolina last weekend. Power, a two-time winner this year on the eGolf Tour was 12-under for the week with 9 holes to play in the final round, but managed to post a late charge with birdies on 13,14,17 and 18 to close with a 4-under 32 for a final round of 66. Seamus now lies in 8th place on the eGolf Tour money list, quite an achievement in his second year as a professional.

Gary Hurley selected

on Irish Team

Congratulations to gary Hurley on his selection to the Irish team for the Home Internationals at Glasgow Gailes Golf Club on 15th to 17th August. He will also be playing in the International European Amateur Championship at Carton House Golf Club from 8th to 11th August.

Club Singles Matchplay

The draw for the first round is now posted on the noticeboard and players should ensure that matches are played by the due dates. Entry fee of €5 must be paid before match is played.

Club Fourball and Club Mixed Foursomes

The club fourball has now progressed to the third round, while the mixed foursomes has reached the semi final stage. The completion date for the next round in both club competitions is set for 10th August.

Junior Golf
