Rockclimbing for all the family

If you are an individual or part of a family that would like to try the sport of rock-climbing now is your chance. Mid-Tipp hillwalkers annual rockclimbing for fun day takes place on Saturday next, August 11, departing from the Horse and Jockey at 1.45pm.

The emphasis here will be on fun climbing for families and adult beginners at an event, which is always hugely popular. All are welcome and climbing and abseiling equipment will be provided for those new to the sport. Further information on this event from 087-2240368.

FM Ridge Climbers

Also congratulations to Josephine Tobin, Joan Quinn, Dan Condren and Eoin Wolohan on, earlier this week putting their rockclimbing skills to good use by , completing a full ascent of FM Ridge, which is the most famous climb in the Mourne Mountains. Meanwhile, the usual high level walk (led by Ollie Walsh) and moderate level walk (led by Ray Creaney) will depart from outside Cashel firestation at 11am on Sunday next , August 12.
