All of Ireland will come to a standstill this afternoon (Thursday) when Katie Taylor takes to the boxing ring to fight for her lifetime goal of a gold medal in the Olympic Games.

South Tipp will be well represented at the ExCel Arena cheering on our national hero, because a group of boxing supporters from Clonmel have travelled to London for this extra-special day.

Decibel levels in the arena reached levels unheard before for Katie’s earlier bouts and this evening that is sure to be added to by the voices from Clonmel Boxing Club.

The 26-year-old Bray fighter will face Russia’s Sofya Ochigava in the lightweight (60kg) final at the ExCel Arena at 4.45pm.

Good luck Katie - all of South Tipp are behind you!
