The very popular Gerry Farnan 5 Mile Cross Country races took place in the Phoenix Park last Sunday. The Men’s race was won impressively by David McCarthy of West Waterford who in August won the Boston Scientific Half Marathon. Sean Tobin competed and he ran a brilliant race when finishing 6th overall in what was a very competitive race and in the process won the Junior Men’s Award. We also had good performances from both Michael Carey and Evan Egan.
County Uneven Age Groups Cross Country Championships take place in the Turnpike on this Sunday with the Club lying in 3rd place behind Nenagh Olympic and Thurles Crokes. The teams will be announced at training during the week and hopefully we will get as many members as possible to compete.
