Upcoming Dates agreed at the recent County Board Meeting are as follows:-
Wed 2nd October – County Tipperary Primary Schools Cross Country Championships in Thurles Crokes Complex.
Sun 6th October – County Juvenile Even Age & Novice Cross Country Championships in Moyne.
Sun 20th October – County Juvenile Uneven Age & Intermediate Cross Country Championships in Clonmel.
Sun 3rd November – County Juvenile Relays & Masters Cross Country Championships in Thurles Crokes Complex.
Sun 17th November – County Juvenile “B” & Novice “B” Cross Country Championships in the Turnpike, Two Mile Borris.
Wed 4th December – County Tipperary Secondary Schools Cross Country Championships in Thurles Crokes Complex.
Sun 8th December – County Junior & Senior Cross Country Championships in Dundrum.
Tipp XC Development Squad Sessions A series of Development Cross Country Squad Sessions will be held every Saturday starting on 7th September right up to the Munster Cross Country Championships at end of October. These sessions will be held in Thurles Crokes Complex from 10.30am to 11.30am for athletes U/10 to U/14 wishing to compete at Munster level. Madeline Loughnane, Thurles Crokes A.C. has gratefully offered her time to coach these athletes & any assistance from Clubs wishing to avail of this development would be appreciated. It is hoped that athletes & coaches availing of these sessions will see Tipperary taking their rightful place again at top level in Munster & National competitions.
Open Cross Country Meets
The Adamstown A.C. Open Cross Country Meet will take place on Sunday 15th September in Adamstown, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford at 12 noon. There will be races for U/9 to U/16 & Junior & Senior. See www.tipperaryathletics.com for more information. Ballon Rathoe A.C. are also holding an Open Juvenile Cross Country Day on Saturday 21st September in Ballykealy Manor Hotel, Ballon, Co. Carlow. New Schools Combined Events Dates The Munster Schools Combined Events Championships will now take place on Wednesday 16th October at 11am in Nenagh Indoor Stadium. As well as the Junior, Intermediate & Senior competition categories, there will also be a First Year event (Minor) for Boys and Girls with four events - 100m, Long Jump, Shot & 800m. The All Ireland Schools Combined Events Championships will take place on Saturday 16th November at 10am in AIT Arena, Athlone. The first four in the Junior, Intermediate & Senior category will go forward to the All Ireland Finals. There is no All-Ireland competition for the 1st Year/Minor category. The Irish Schools’ Athletic Association is delighted to announce that the Schools’
Combined Events Competition will be an indoor competition from this year.
