Motorcycle racing returns to Faugheen in August

The weekend of August 9/10 will see motorcycle road racing return to Faugheen, near Carrick-on-Suir. Last run in 2009, the race meeting will return with full Championship status.

The weekend of August 9/10 will see motorcycle road racing return to Faugheen, near Carrick-on-Suir. Last run in 2009, the race meeting will return with full Championship status.

Full details will be announced nearer the date.

To whet people’s appetites and raise the club’s profile, a sprint race will be held on Sunday, May 4 at Kiltorcan raceway, Ballyhale, Co. Kilkenny. Entries are now being taken – see the club’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/faugheen.rrclub) for details or contact club president, Mick Ryan at 087-7418545.

On July 19/20 there will be another road racing meeting in Munster with the Cork road races. This will be the second year running on their new circuit at Glanmire, part of which takes in a section of the old main Cork-Dublin road. The organisers are hoping for more clement weather than last year, when the races where cut short due to persistent heavy rain.
