O’Hara best in super Masters final

A large crowd turned up for round one of the Tipperary Masters Darts which was played in the Forge in Emly. There was great darts thrown all day and Tipperary’s top two players at present reached the final.

The standard of the final was as good as one would see anywhere in the country. Gerry O’Hara came out on top when he defeated Donie Ryan on a score of 4-2. What was great to see was the emergence of some of our youth players like Dan Currivan who reached the semi-final and Aaron Noonan who made the last 16, the future is looking bright for darts in the county.

The action then switched to the Lady Gregory for their annual tournament, and this was won by Donie Ryan who beat John Lenoard in the final. John went three legs down but put put up a great fight to bring it back to three all. Donie showed his class by closing out the next leg to win 4-3.

The draw also took place for the 2013 Tipperary Cup, which will take place on January 13 in Cahir House and the draw is as follows:

Youths trials will take place this Sunday 23 in Barrons, New Inn starting at three sharp.

The County Board wishes to extend its sympathy to Una O’Dwyer on the loss of her mother recently.
