Get ready for GOAL one mile challenge events

The St Finbarr’s Half Marathon took place last Sunday over a better course in Blarney. Vasiliy Neumerzhitskiy showed that he is running well when finishing 18th overall in 80:24. Larry Martin was 45th in 84:15.

In the Genzyme 5 Mile Road Race Francis Connolly put in a great performance when finishing 20th in 31:10. Garry Hallinan was 121st in 38:31.

The GOAL Challenge

The Club is promoting a series of 1 Mile Challenges on Wednesday, September 19 and 26 and October 3 at the Track at the Dr Pat O’Callaghan Sports Complex, starting at 6.45pm every night. These Challenges are open to everyone, Walkers, Joggers and Athletes. As an incentive – there is no entry fee but all participants are asked to donate to the Charity GOAL, a very worthy cause.

Pre Christmas 4k Series - Keep fit for Winter

Once again the Club is promoting its very successful 4k Road Race series. The series of 6 races gets underway on Wednesday, October 31 at 7pm. This series of races is an ideal opportunity for everyone to Get and Keep Fit for the Winter at their own pace in the company of other athletes as these races caters for all levels of fitness from Jogging to running. Entries will be taken at the Brothers of Charity car park, Silversprings, from 6.15pm onwards each night. The Club would like members to come forward and help with the marshalling of these races.
