The first planning meeting for this August’s Cannonball Run which will roll into town on Sunday, August 23, took place in Cashel last week.
A team of a dozen people attended the meeting in Billy Foley’s of Friar Street. The weekend will be fundraiser for the LauraLynn charity, Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice. Sean Laffey, President of the Cashel Chamber of Commerce, said: “It’s a great cause. It will be a huge tourism boost for the town and we have plans to make the event into a weekend festival and if we do it well, then we hope to be able to win a stage in next year’s Cannonball Run.”
