Volunteers to be honoured at Canon Hayes sports awards

South Tipperary Sports Partnership in association with the Canon Hayes National Sports Awards is honouring those who volunteer their time and effort to the development of sport in South Tipperary.

South Tipperary Sports Partnership in association with the Canon Hayes National Sports Awards is honouring those who volunteer their time and effort to the development of sport in South Tipperary.

Nominations for this year’s Volunteer in Sport Award were received from sports clubs and organisations across South Tipperary identifying individuals whose exceptional efforts as volunteers have made a difference to sport in their club and community.

The nominations for the 2011 Volunteer in Sport Award are Sean Keane, Tipperary Hills Pitch & Putt Club; Margaret Leahy, St. Mary’s Camogie Club; Jimmy Fennessy, Clonmel Rowing Club; Mary O’Shea, Ballingarry Community Games; Jackie Hannon, Lattin Cullen GAA Club; Paddy Connery, Tipperary County Tennis Club; Paul Kavanagh, Fethard & District Rugby Club; Geraldine Everett, Castleview Lawn Tennis Club and Tom O’Donoghue, Arravale Rovers Hurling & Football Club.

As part of the annual Canon Hayes National Sports Awards Banquet on Saturday night, November 26 at Ballykisteen Hotel, a presentation will be made to each of the volunteers and the award winner will be announced. A limited number of tickets are available to attend at €50 each and can be reserved by calling 087 6101628.
