The Munster Juvenile Track and Field Championship for the under 14 to under 19 took place in Templemore last weekend.
In the Girls under 16 100m Phoebe Murphy underlined her ability when winning the title in 12.6 secs and she can look forward to representing her country in the 100m at the upcoming European Youth Olympic Festival in Utrecht, Netherlands in July
In the 200m race Phoebe Murphy ran a brilliant race to win the Silver medal in 26 secs. In the Girls under 18 400m Roisin Cleary ran a brilliant race when winning the title in 61.6 secs. In the Girls under 18 800m Megan O Brien ran very well when winning the Silver medal in 2 mins 34.2 secs., then on Sunday she ran very well in the 400m hurdles when winning the Silver medal in 74.5 secs. In the Girls under 18 300m Orlaith Moynihan and Laura Tobin ran very well when finishing 3rd (11 mins 14.1 secs ) and 4th (11 mins 41.1 secs) respectively. Then we had Chloe Lynch winning the Girls under 16 2k walk in 11 mins 23.2 secs, Alan Boland performed very well when finishing 4th in the Boys under 15 2k in 12 mins 36.6 secs. In the Girls under 18 3K Walk Michaela Crosbie and Alyx Dwyer won Silver (18 mins 22.6 secs) and Bronze (19 mins 0.06 secs) medals respectively. In the Boys under 17 3K walk Aaron Egan and Anthony Tobin won the Gold (13 mins 59.2 secs) and Silver (14 mins 31.6 secs) medals respectively. While in the Boys under 18 5K walk Evan Lynch won the Gold medal in 21min 36.3 secs.
In the girls under 14 80m Emma Moore Kelly making her Championship debut ran very well to qualify for the final where she finished a very close 6th. In the Girls under 18 1500m Aoife Laste ran very well when winning the Bronze medal in 5 mins 1.6 secs.
The Draw takes place this Friday night in Carey’s Irishtown. The last draw took place in Bernie Macs where the lucky numbers were 6, 10, 16 and 20 where one person had 3 numbers. The Jackpot now stands at 7,500 Euros.
