We had a good turnout for the Turkey Stroke play pitch and putt competition played on Sunday November 3. The overall winner was Jimmy Fitzgerald who came through late in the day with a fine score of 89 net. Welcome back Jimmy!

Paddy Power Shield
This will take place on Sunday November 10. The format for this competition will be a 3 ball scramble over 36 holes. This popular event, which is generously sponsored by Ely Stores, Old Bridge, is run each year in the memory of the late great Paddy Power, Hillview’s greatest patron. With the course play so well hot scoring and keen competition is expected.
Prizes for this competition will be presented immediately afterwards as well as prizes for the Turkey competition and Hackett & Millea cups.
There was a good entry for the Winter League, which will be running for the next 4 weeks on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
Evan Fitzgerald continued his good form , with a runner up spot in the under 14 singles at Ballinlough, Cork, the first official Junior tournament in the 2013/14 season.
Martin Ormonde, Michael Prendergast, Michael Murrey and Declan Tarrant, all reached their respective finals at the Kilkenny Vets tournament. Results of finals not available on Tournament Planner.
Annual Captains Dinner:
The Hillview Sports Club Captains Dinner will take place on Saturday, November 23. Tickets are available at the Club Bar after 8.30pm each night. The price of the tickets is €30 each.
Please organise your tables and let Matty Boyle know on or before Monday November 18. Come along and enjoy the evening. Wine reception will be at 8.00pm with the meal at 8.30pm.
Food will be provided by Eileen Condon.
Table Tennis will resume on Wednesday nights from now on. All are welcome to try this fun sport and balls and bats will be provided for those who require them. There will be a few competitions before Christmas if there is sufficient interest.
