Tipperary player wins Cricketer of the Year award

At the presentation of the Midlands and South East Cricket Associations Wallace Cup final, David Murphy from New Inn was presented with the Midlands Youth Cricketer of the Year Award.

At the presentation of the Midlands and South East Cricket Associations Wallace Cup final, David Murphy from New Inn was presented with the Midlands Youth Cricketer of the Year Award.

David, who was on the winning Laois 1st XI, has a very successful season playing mens cricket for Laois Cricket Club and underage cricket with Pembroke Cricket Club in Dublin.

He was selected for the Leinster under 15s and played in the interprovincials in Stormont and in the Wolverhampton Cricket Festival.

The Laois 1st XI are currently leading Division 4 in the Leinster Leagues and David was recently part of the Pembroke U15 team that won the Leinster Cup and All Ireland Cup Semi final, they play in the final next week in Northern Ireland
