Clonmel’s Angela McCann wins in Lismore

Dundrum is the venue this Saturday night where the County Road relays will be decided, both starting at 7 pm. Clonmel AC has a good record in these Championships and hopefully we can once again enter a few teams in both the Men’s and Ladies. The Ladies distance are 800m, 1500m, 800m and 3000m while the Distances for the Men’s race is 800m, 1500m, 3000m and 5000m.

Another fine win for Angela McCann

The Ardmore 5 Mile Road race took place recently in misty conditions. Angela McCann took yet another victory in the West Waterford’s summer series as she led from gun to tape in Ardmore last Friday evening. Angela in winning broke the 30 minute mark when clocking an impressive time of 29.42 for the race which gave her 12th overall. Vasiliy Neumerzhitskiy ran very well when finishing 17th overall in 30 mins 12 secs, Dick O’Gorman 20th in 31mins 1 sec. Anthony O’Brien on a short visit home from Australia showed that his training is going well when finishing 50th in 34:24. Joe Grinsell was 115th in 42:19.

Great performances at Longford Half Marathon

Longford was the venue last Sunday for racing as they held their annual Half Marathon, Marathon and Ultra Marathon. In the Ultra marathon James O’Brien was having his first outing over this distance and he ran well when finishing 13th overall in 6 hours 9 mins 21 secs. In the Marathon Vasiliy Neumerzhitskiy ran well when finishing 4th overall in 2 hours 48 mins 50 secs to win the over 45 award. Then we had Angela McCann also running well when finishing 2nd Senior lady in 3 hours 1 min 46 secs, Tommy Cahill 2nd over 55 in 3 hours 28 mins 29 secs, Miriam O’Gorman 2nd lady over 40 in 3 hours 54 mins 10 secs, Rosie Casey 17th lady overall in 3 hours 56 mins 23 secs, Ned O’Brien 119th in 4 hours 4 mins 8 secs. In the Half Marathon Dick O’Gorman ran well when finishing 26th overall in 89 mins 23 secs.

Club Lotto

The draw takes place this Friday night in Bernie Macs, Old Bridge. The Lotto now stands at €5,500 and the Lucky numbers in the last Draw were 3, 7, 12 and 30. Three people had 3 numbers.
