Moyglass Tennis Club is up and running again

Moyglass tennis club is now up and running again following an upgrade of the courts in early summer. The courts are a great facility in the community and locals are delighted to see tennis being played again.

There is a long tradition of tennis in Moyglass. In the 1970s and 1980s Moyglass tennis club competed at the highest levels locally and nationally, winning Community Games finals and many other competitions throughout both Tipperary and Munster. The Guiry brothers went on to play tennis at international level. Perhaps some of the children currently practising on the courts may reach a similar standard someday.

On Saturday, October 13, we held our first tournament for children age 6 to 16. A great day of tennis was enjoyed by all followed by refreshments for participants and parents in the excellent Moyglass Hall facilities. Many of the children participating in the tournament are availing of tennis lessons with Paschal Whelan on Saturday mornings.

We are now registering members offering a once off special price for new members. For more information contact Emma at Tel: 086 8717237.
