Clonmel athlete Sean Tobin continued his superb form in Nenagh at the Munster under 14 to under 19 Indoor Championships.

Tobin further enhanced his reputation as one of the club’s finest athletes with a superb performance.

In the Boys under 19 1500m final he took up the pace right from the start and set a very strong pace that saw him pulverise the rest of the field with a brilliant run.

He ran a superb race to win the title very convincingly in a new championship record of 3 mins 53.98 secs, well inside the 2006 record of 4 mins 9.90 secs.

This was Sean at his best and he can now look forward to the All Ireland Schools Cross Country Championship in Galway this weekend with great confidence.

Clonmel clubmates Michael Carey was 4th, James Murphy 5th and Evan Egan 6th.
