Sandis Bralitis of West Waterford won the Annerville 10k in Clonmel on Sunday in 32 mins 9 secs.
The race attracted a record entry of 437 athletes. Sandis took up the pace right from the start with Ruairi O’Donnell of Limerick on his shoulder. At 1k he went through in 3:03 in the lead and he kept that tempo going reaching 5k in 15:45 and coming home to win very convincingly at the West Gate. Dzintars Klava of West Waterford was 2nd in 33 mins 40 secs with Kevin Moore of Dundrum 3rd in 33 mins 57 secs, 4th was Ruairi O’Donnell Limerick in 34:09 with Danny Smith, Ballynonty 5th in 34:19. Willie Hempenstall Carrick on Suir won the 0/40 in 36:20 with Paudie O’Keeffe, Clonmel 2nd in 37:05.
The Ladies race was won by Siobhan O’Doherty (Borrisokane) in 36 mins 45 secs with Angela McCann, Clonmel 2nd in 37 mins 41 secs and Grace McConnell of Abbeyleix 3rd in 4 mins 55 secs. Grace O’Rourke, DSD, was 4th in 41:56 with Catherine Rice, Clonmel 5th in 42:49. Kate Wall, Clonmel won the 0/35 in 42:13 with Johanna Lacy, Clonmel 2nd in 42:33. Fiona Bourke, Clonmel won the 0/40 award in 46:13 with Verona Bourke, Clonmel 2nd in 47:49. Una Redfern, Clonmel won the 0/45 in 49:27 with Anne Cronin, Carrick on Suir 2nd in 51:22. Eileen Hynes, Clonmel won the 0/50 in 50:14 with Bernie Hopkins, Clonmel 2nd in 51:36. Terri Gough, West Waterford won the 0/55 award in 64:22
