Tipperary showjumper Denis Lynch has launched an eleventh hour appeal to be allowed take part in the Olympic Games which begin in London today.

Lynch has made his appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in a bid to save his Olympic dream.

The Tipp town man had been picked on the two-man Irish team for London but was then dropped when his horse Lantinus tested positive for hypersensitity at an event in Aachen.

His place was taken by Cian O’Connor but Lynch has now made his late bid to win it back.
