First trials for the Ladies and Mens County teams took place last Friday night at Hillview, Clonmel, where 14 ladies and 45 men attended, there was some great darts thrown on the night and Bido O’Regan and Gerry O’Hara came out on top. These trials will continue over the next five weeks and anyone who wishes to play County darts for the coming year are asked to attend. Players have to play in four of the six trials and they can dismiss their worst two nights from their total.

Sunday 2 saw the annual Timmy O’Dowd Memorial take place in Feehans Bar, Cashel where a large crowd attended, and after a great day of darts, Donie Ryan (Preston) beat Willie McGarry in the final.

Sunday 30 saw the action switch to the Abbey Tavern for the Pat Hanrahan Memorial, and another large crowd turned up on the day. Some brilliant darts were thrown all through and the final of the cup came down between Gery O’Hara and Mick O’Connell where Gerry took the hounours. In the shield final Beanie Hanrahan beat Trevor Covney. Well done to all who took part in both these tournaments, and the large crowds who turned out on both days show the high esteem both these men were held in by players all over the County.
