Community Supports Boxing Tournament in aid of Alan

On Sunday, January 27, Cashel Boxing Club held a boxing tournament in aid of Cashel man Alan O’Dwyer who currently lives in Australia and requires surgery following an accident.

On Sunday, January 27, Cashel Boxing Club held a boxing tournament in aid of Cashel man Alan O’Dwyer who currently lives in Australia and requires surgery following an accident.

The boxing club is happy to announce that the tournament was a success thanks to both the boxers and to the public supporting the cause. Furthermore, the following local businesses have kindly contributed to the cause: ESSO Mace service station, Ladyswell Restaurant, Buckley’s Spar, Morelli Restaurant, Penny Lane Pub, Martin and Marian O’Dwyer Butchers, Pat Fahy’s pub and restaurant, Brian Boru, Pat Fox’s Pub, Rock Solid Gym, O’Dwyers Pharmacy, Rock of Cashel Shop, and Fitz Stoves.

The tournament included boxing bouts between boxers from clubs in County Tipperary and Waterford. Dylan O’Dwyer of Cashel Boxing Club impressed everyone in his bout against Stephen Hanley of Thurles Boxing Club. Dylan was selected as the Boxer of the Tournament and won the Hunt memorial trophy of 2013.

Cashel Boxing Club would like to thank the Tipperary/Waterford county board who provided officials on the day and last but not least, all the people that showed up on the day supporting the cause as well as the boxers.
