After last weekend’s narrow defeat to Sundays Well, Clonmel U-19S had to beat a Tralee side that won the previous weekend.

Both sides knew a win was vital if either wanted to progress in this Pan Munster competition.

Once the whistle was blown both sides set about their respective tasks.

Clonmel applied early pressure to Tralee who defended their line. Clonmel were the first to score with a try from Billy O’Kelly. Cadogan converted. Clonmel were guilty of giving away silly penalties.

Luckily Tralee couldn’t capitalise on these mistakes. Further tries from Alex Sheehan and Shay Van Dam all converted by Cadogan pushed Clonmel further ahead. The final score was Clonmel 24 Tralee 0.

This was a solid performance from Clonmel who now face Ennis next week in another ‘must win’ game.
