Rockwell win junior girls rugby blitz

Munster Rugby ran a Sevens Blitz for secondary school girls in the grounds of Rockwell College. Girls from Rockwell College, Abbeyfeale Convent, Thurles Ursuline, Thurles Presentation, New Ross College, Kilkenny College and Firhouse College, Dublin, took part on the day.

The competition was divided into Junior and Senior sections with the top teams in each group meeting in the final. Kilkenny College were the eventual winners in the senior competition while the host school Rockwell College took the prize in the junior section.

The Rockwell team consisted of Michela Kavangh (Tipperary Town), Ally Barlow (Clonmel), Aisling McCarthy (Cahir), Aida Ryan (Clonmel), Sarah O’Sullivan (Limerick), Jackie O’Gorman (Clogheen) and Sinead Kennedy (Clonmel). The team is coached by former Irish women’s rugby International centre Patrique Kelly.
