In the midst of an economic depression and a severe cold spell, Tipp FM warmed the hearts of many rugby players on Monday, November 29 when they announced their Sports Star Awards.

Niamh Briggs, a native of Waterford, but a player with Clonmel RFC for many years was named as the recipient of the February 2010 Award for her outstanding performance in the women's 6-Nations Rugby tournament. Niamh, as well as having the highest scoring tally during the campaign, received the award for her excellent and consistent performances during the 6-Nations.


Last Saturdays training was postponed due to the bad weather. Trainingas usual next Saturday morning at 10.30. Warm clothing please.

Blitz in Fethard on Sunday, December 12 against Fethard and Waterpark, leaving Clonmel at 9.45.

Under 11s for Thomond Park

Clonmel RFC u-11s have been invited to play in Thomond Parkat half time on January 1, 2011 whenMunster play Ulster. This is a great opportunity for the players to show off their skillsand sample the great atmosphere. Any U11s interested in travelling please let the coaches know asap as places are limited. Weexpect totravel by bus. All parents and supporters are most welcome to come and cheer on the players. This is a tremendous opportunity for these players and their coaches. It is an occasion that they will never forget.

u-15 Clonmel play Fethard in Clonmel in the league. Kick-off at 11.00am

u-19 Clonmel play Thurles or Fethard in the league in Fethard. Kick-off at 1.00pm
