It’s a proud day for the former Clonmel High School student who is now a regular in the Munster second row.

Foley will play alongside Mike McCarthy in an Irish team that shows thirteen changes from the side that beat South Africa last Saturday.

Foley will be joined on the team by fellow Tipperary man Tommy O’Donnell in the back row.

The two follow an impressive line of Irish internationals from Tipperary, including Foley’s fellow Clonmel man Rory Moroney, Alan Quinlan and Denis Leamy.

Foley was expcted to make his debut at some stage on Sunday, possibly off the bench, but coach Joe Schmidt has put his faith in the imposing Clonmel man to make a telling impact from the start.
