Cahir Park Academy reopens

Cahir Park is now a hive of activity again with the re-opening of the Academy on Saturday mornings. Registration is €20 for the year and training costs €2 per week. From 10am - 11am players born 2004, 2005 and 2006 are in action. From 11am - noon players born 2001, 2002 and 2003 get their turn. All players are advised to wear shin-pads.

On Saturday morning the Under 14s and Under 16s were in action. The Under 16s went down 5-2 at the Park to a strong, athletic Bansha side, William Penrose-Dunne with a fine second goal for the boys in white. The Under 14s played in Dueske against St Michaels and were unlucky to go down 3-2. The Under 12s opposition failed to show.

In the afternoon, our function room was re-named the Colonel R.B. Charteris room in a celebration of the history associated with our founding fathers, the Colonel being patron of the Club from 1921 to 1961. The Charteris Cup will remain on display in the trophy cabinet.

In the evening, the ladies had their turn at the Park - losing out 4-0 in the Tipperary Cup quarter-final to an exceptionally strong and mobile Killenaule side although their was some fine individual performances from the Park girls.
