Tipperary schoolboys soccer kick off a new season

Registered Clubs – 14 clubs have entered teams for the 2012/13 season - Bansha Celtic, Burncourt, Cahir Park, Cashel Town, Clerihan, Clonmel Celtic, Clonmel Town, Gortnahue, Moyglass, Mullinahone, Peake Villa, St Kevins, St Michaels, Vee Rovers.

Emerging Talent Squads – Are you interested in joining the team of coaches that oversee the T.S.S.D.L emerging talent squads? The league intend establishing a squad for each age group from U12 – U15. Clubs are requested to submit names of people interested in joining the coaching team to the Secretary of the league by 28th August.

The FAI regional centre will also be starting again soon (Sept 17th) at the new venue of the WIT Sports Campus in Carriganore in Waterford. Both the junior group (u15) and the senior group (u16 and u17) will both train at the same time. 7.30pm-9pm. The regional consists of the best players from South Tipperary, Waterford, Kilkenny and West Waterford/East Cork at the age groups above. We wish all the local players from South Tipperary all the best in these squads. Any coaches interested are more than welcome to come and watch any of the sessions.

Schoolgirls League – It is the intention to run schoolgirls leagues for the following age groups;

U10, U12, U14 & U16

Clubs are requested to return the registration forms to the registrar by 7th September

International Appearance – Congratulations to Mark Hoban from St Michaels who was selected to play for the Ireland U15 team against Austria at the end of last season.

Danone Cup – The National finals of the Danone Cup were held in Dublin in late July. Clonmel Town U12 team were narrowly beaten in the national final by St Josephs Boys of Dublin and so just missed out on a trip to the world finals which are to be held in Poland.
