Clonmel Celtic pulled off one of their greatest wins ever when beating Limerick hotshots Carew Park in the Munster Junior Cup semi-final on Saturday night.

They must do it again against another Limerick outfit in the final when they meet the winners of Pike Rovers and Ballynanty Rovers who meet in the other semi-final next weekend.

The final takes place at the home of St Michael’s in Cooke Park, Tipperary.

Celtic won through to the decider following a penalty shoot-out against a Carew side that are already through to the FAI Junior Cup semi-final and went into Saturday’s game in Jackman Park as firm favourites.

The Clonmel side went into the lead through Paul Kennedy but Carew equalised to bring the tie to extra time and it remained level to the end.

In the penalty shoot-out Clonmel Celtic won 6-5 in sudden death.
