St. Michael’s FC ran out comfortable winners as they hit an under-strength Clonmel Celtic for seven in their Youth League clash at Ferryhouse, Clonmel last Saturday, winning 7-1.

St. Michael’s FC ran out comfortable winners as they hit an under-strength Clonmel Celtic for seven in their Youth League clash at Ferryhouse, Clonmel last Saturday, winning 7-1.

Clonmel Celtic lost their keeper after 2 minutes through injury but despite this setback it was a good closely fought twenty minutes with Eoin Kearney scoring to level the game at 1-1 after St. Michael’s had opened the scoring through Cathal Ryan.

With Clonmel Celtic, having a player red carded shortly afterwards the visitors scored three quick goals through Cathal Ryan, Kevin Stapleton, and Dave Buckley to make it 4-1.

From that stage onwards, St Michaels were in control and ran out convincing winners adding further goals from Mark Hoban and Jamie Tierney with a brace.
