The Tipperary Town Ladies Soccer club will make history on Sunday, September 28 when they take part in the final of the FAI Umbro Women’s Junior Challenge Cup 2014 at Cooke Park.

“The girls have earned their place in the final after an emphatic success in a tricky away tie to Dublin side Dingle United and the reward for such a fine display is an almost home final with the game being played here in Tipperary Town,” said Coach Patrick Swords.

Awaiting them in the final are the ladies of Lagan Harps FC from Donegal after they also booked their place in the final at the expense of Dublin club Ballyfermot Ladies FC. The visitors will arrive as champions of their own league from last season and have already picked up their divisional shield and will be looking to add even more silverware but the girls from Tipp Town are in no mood to have their party crashed.

“These girls have showed in their short history that they are a match for any side and their steely glare is now on the FAI Umbro Women’s Junior Challenge Cup,” added proud coach Patrick.

Soccer fans and especially ladies soccer fans let’s get behind our Tipperary Town team and be part of our town’s sporting history.
