U13 Emerging Talent Program –

The squad for this season’s South Tipperary Under 13 Emerging Talent Program (ETP) has been selected and commenced training on Sunday. An extensive selection program commence on Sunday, September 30 and continued for a 3 week period which involved the review of over 50 schoolboy footballers that were born in the year 2000 (our Y2K boys). An open invitation was sent to all schoolboy clubs in which a total of 9 clubs sent forward boys for the challenge of trying to make the final squad. The assessment was completed by the team of David Lenane (FAI Officer), Stephen Earley, Paddy O’Donnell and Peadar Furlong.
At the end of the assessment a total of 23 boys were selected as this season’s U13 ETP squad. The wonderful outcome of the assessment and selection was that at least one boy from each club that took part in the trials has been selected to represent their club as a member of this years squad. The nine teams represented are: Bansha Celtic, Burncourt Celtic, Cahir Park, Clerihan, Clonmel Celtic, Clonmel Town, Peak Villa, St. Michaels & Vee Rovers.
The U13 ETP squad is as follows:
Edmond O’Dwyer, Bansha Celtic; Nathan Mulcahy, Burncourt Celtic; Dominic Mlynczak, Sean Murphy, Kieran Lambert, Kenneth Cunningham, all Cahir Park;     Rian Quigley, Sean Cotter, both Clerihan; Tadgh Burke, Clonmel Celtic, Brian Quirke, Luke O’Donnell, Diarmuid Mulcahy, John Furlong, Brian Lacey, Jake Guinan, Jack O’Donnell, Peter O’Dowd, David Jaros, all Clonmel Town; Frank McKevitt, Sean Butler, Conor Ryan, all Peake Villa; DJ Cremins,  St. Michaels, Cian Murphy, Vee Rovers
This season’s challenge for our U13 ETP squad involves a league format of which two groups of five County teams will play in a league basis. The winners of the two groups progress to play a Munster Final to earn the right to be crowned U13 Munster Champions.

Towards the end of the season we will take part in the prestigious DD Cremmins Cup which will be a fitting finish to a long and challenging season ahead. We look forward to the season ahead with an excellent squad of boys.
For the boys that trialed and were not successful we would like to thank them for their participation and to continue with your club development as it remains a possibility that a player can enter the programme during the coming season.

Progress of the U13 ETP will be followed during the season in this column.
