Pathway for players in South Tipperary
In relation to South Tipp we have league centre squads at u12, u13, u14 & u15 level with all squads holding trials in the next few weeks.
After the Kennedy cup at u14 level players will then be selected to go forward to the Regional centre in Waterford. Out of last year’s Kennedy cup squad, 7 players are entering their first year in the Regional centre at u15 level. They are Brian Norton, Jack Burke, Daire Brennan, Dylan Kennedy, Stephen Lahert, Shane Neville and Michael Foley. This is a great achievement for the lads and everyone within the league wishes them the best of luck.
In the senior group which is comprised of u16 and u17 players, Mark Hoban, Ian McGrath and Liam Lannigan will feature here. The International squads are then selected from the best players at the various age groups from the 12 regional centers around the country. Niall Harrison is manager of the u15 international team, Tom O’Connor is the u16 manager and the u17 squad is lead by Tom Mohan. All these squads play a large number of games home and abroad during the season.
This column will keep you up to date with the progress of each of the emerging talent panels as the season progress.
