The lads got back to winning ways with a good home victory against a dogged and vastly improved Bohs outfit. The result was never in doubt when we went ahead after one minute through a well taken goal by Ian Brett. We dominated play in the first half creating several good chances however failed to add to our earlier lead.

Ten minutes into the second-half we were awarded a free 25 yds from goal. Lee Costello hit a fabulous shot which rebounded off the crossbar. The hard-working Cian Kinsella followed-up to smash the ball home. The lads were now passing the ball nicely and Billy O’Connor, in particular, was excelling in his deep midfield role. Three minutes later Billy was rewarded for his efforts when he picked-up the ball on the edge of the 18yd. box and finished well to the top right-hand corner.

Aidan Keane, was commanding as sweeper and made several decisive clearances, duly aided by his defensive team of James Daly, Oran Brophy and Lee.

Manus McFadden added our 4th and 5th goals in the 15th and 32nd minute of the half, the pick of which was a well executed lob of the keeper from 25 yds.

Well done to all the lads for a great display and thanks to Martin O’Neill who went into goal for the match and kept a clean sheet.

Thanks to Martina’s, Carrickbeg for their generous sponsorship of our 1B squad playing kit.
