NATIONAL CUP REVIEW –
Last weekend was very successful for the TSSDL clubs in the SFAI National Cup competitions.
In the U13 competition all five South Tipperary clubs won their matches. Stand out results include Clerihan who travelled to Ormond Villa in Waterford and returned with an excellent 3-0 victory. Also Vee Rovers 7-1 victory away to Kilmacthomas must rate as one of the best ever in the Clogheen club’s history.
In the U15 competition four of the six Tipperary clubs progressed to the next round with Clonmel Town travelling to Carlow to defeat New Oak Boys. Peake Villa and St Michaels both travelled to Waterford and recorded great victories against city teams.
These results show that the TSSDL clubs are performing at a high level and bode well for our inter-county teams.
Next weekend sees the next rounds of the U12 and U14 National Cups, fixtures can be viewed at www.TSSDL.ie Best of luck to all of the teams.
EMERGING TALENT PANELS –
Trials are continuing for the ETPs and details of the final squads will be published in the next few weeks. These squads will then prepare through the season to represent the TSSDL in the various inter league competitions.
U10 NON-COMPETITIVE LEAGUES
The U10 leagues for players born in 2003 commence this week with 21 teams entered. It is great to see so many teams entered and it is hoped that the boys will get great support in the first league matches that they will play in. These leagues will be run off every second Sunday morning and the fixtures can be viewed at www.TSSDL.ie
BEST OF LUCK SHANE!
All involved with the TSSDL league will be watching the Ireland v Germany World Cup qualifier on Friday evening hoping that our own Shane Long plays well. Shane played schoolboys football in the TSSDL with St Kevins and St Michaels and is a great example to all of our players of how success at the highest level can be achieved.
