Third Division Redmondstown qualified for the last eight of the Peter O’Reilly Cup after seeing off the challenge of Fourth Division Cullen-Lattin B in Clonmel last Sunday.

Redmondstown were on the front foot from the kick-off and got the breakthrough after 10 minutes when Brendan Boland beat the advancing keeper after being put through by Geno Lonergan. Lonergan turned from provider to scorer firing home a Ger Gardiner pass on 23 minutes to make it 2-0. Redmondstown made it 3-0 when Lonergan was in the right place to fire home his second of the afternoon from a David Askins pass on the half-hour.

Redmondstown continued to dominate this one-sided contest and put the tie to bed on 75 minutes when James Kiely made it 4-0 from a William Kelly centre. Cullen-Lattin B added a consolation goal in stoppage time when Chris Power converted a penalty.
